Communicate transparently with your customers
Over the past few weeks, I bet your email inbox has been filled with a flurry of messages from all of your favourite brands letting you know how they are coping with the COVID-19 outbreak. You should be doing the same! Don’t just ghost clients because you can’t operate like normal. Keep communication channels open! Remember that your product or service added value to people’s lives. If COVID-19 interrupted you, it’s also interrupted them.
Establish a remote work option
Everyday is still an opportunity to grow your business. There’s never a good time for a global pandemic, however, 2020 is the best time in all of history that this could have taken place. Why? Only because we are already technologically more prepared than ever for working remotely. So there are no excuses. Create your productive space. Whatever it talks. Sign up to the gadgets and subscribe to the software that allows you to operate as productively as possible.
Shift your sales & marketing strategy to online
The COVID-19 outbreak has also created a surge of online influencers, personal trainers, online consultants, and chefs, meme accounts… Why? Everyone on lockdown is spending all of his or her time online. Even if you can’t sell online, you can still build a mailing list. I will be sharing a lot more about this in the coming days. But if you want to know how your business can shift online, get in touch with me at: Junior@GEAtraining.com
All of your competitors are in the same boat right now. When it’s a matter of survival sometimes you have no other choice but to be reliant on others. These people could be competitors, suppliers, or governing bodies. The point is there is strength in numbers. Think creatively about how you can leverage resources that others have so you can both outlast the uncertain times.
Consider business interruption finance
The government have, and will continue to open many doors to help your business thrive. These doors will not be open forever. Seize the opportunities. There are plenty of grant, tax breaks, payment holidays and low interest loans floating around right now. It may not be for everyone, but at least be open to exploring.
Plan for the long term
Nothing works without a clear and concise plan. Yes your business will change, but you should be the driving force of how the change unfolds. Create an action plan. On my next few zoom calls I’ll be sharing how you can create a business roadmap to navigate the tough times. This is not the time to panic, this is the time to plan! Lets make it happen.
